Mustang Volleyball, Soccer Teams to Compete in State Tournament- Updated

Update: Both the boys soccer team and girls volleyball team were defeated in their first games of the state tournament. The girls soccer team defeated Methuen in double overtime, 2-1. Medford heads to top seed Central Catholic on Tuesday for a 6:00 PM game.

The boys and girls soccer teams and the volleyball team have all qualified for the state tournament.

The volleyball team is on the road at Methuen on Thursday, November 3 for a 6:00 PM game. Medford, 9-9, is seeded 12th in North Division 1. Methuen, 15-5, is the 5th seed. The winner will advance to the quarter finals against either Peabody or Billerica.

On Friday the boys soccer team, 10-5-3 and seeded 11th, will head to St. John’s Prep (6th) for a 3:00 PM game. The winner will face either Lowell or Peabody in the next round.

On Sunday 9th-ranked Medford (10-5-2) will play at 8th-ranked Methuen at 4:00 PM. The winner will face top seed Central Catholic.
