Medford Kids Focus on Music-making and Fun at Tufts

This summer, about 30 local children participated in the Tufts University Summer Music Program at the Tufts campus in Medford/Somerville. The two-week program, led by Tufts Music Professor Edith Auner, features fun workshops for children ages 7-12 on singing, dancing, African drumming and playing instruments like piano and violin. For many of the participants it is their first time picking up an instrument. On the program’s last day, the young musicians perform a concert for family and friends.

Participants from Medford included Geremia Chevry, Davis Craddock, Violet Freimark, Mahi Mirchandani and Sarah Rose Youssef.
