Mayor Burke Holding Patriot’s Day Writing Contest for Middle Schoolers

Mayor Burke welcomes any middle school student who resides in Medford to submit a poem, narrative or an essay about “What Patriot’s Day Means to You.” We ask that only one piece of writing per student in grades 6-8 be submitted. A panel will select three winners to present their poem, narrative or essay about Patriot’s Day at our annual Patriot’s Day event on April 18, 2016. The reading should not exceed two minutes.

The writing that is submitted must be a student’s personal work and should remain on the topic of Patriot’s Day. Students should type their work so that it is legible for judges and can send via email to LFeltch@medford.org.

The deadline for all entries is March 28, 2016. Winners will be notified by April 11, 2016. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our office at 781-393-2408.

Thank you to all students and teachers for your support.
