The moment of silence will be held at 2:49PM on Wednesday, which is the anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombings two years ago.

One Boston Day” is “a new tradition to honor the resiliency, generosity and strength of the City of Boston” by encouraging random acts of kindness and the spreading goodwill.

“Therefore, I Michael J. McGlynn, Mayor of the City of Medford, do hereby encourage our citizens to mark the moment of silence tomorrow, as well as, hope that Medford’s residents will preform random acts of kindness and goodwill. Grace Church and other churches in Medford will also ring their church bells at 2:49 PM Wednesday,” said Mayor McGlynn in a statement.
