Mystic Valley Area Branch of NAACP to Hold Meeting March 23

The Mystic Valley Area branch of the NAACP holds its monthly membership meetings on the fourth Monday of every month. Our next meeting will start at 7:30 pm on March 23, 2015 at Everett’s Parlin Memorial Library located at 410 Broadway 02149. Mystic Valley Area Branch jurisdiction has long included the city of Everett and this month’s meeting marks the first General Membership meeting held within Everett in over a decade. The Branch welcomes the public and new members who are committed to ensuring the political, educational, social and economic equality of rights of all person and to eliminate, racial hatred and racial discrimination.

The Mystic Valley Branch is the responsible entity for the release of a widely viewed and discussed Public Service Announcement: “I’m A Statistic” that used local African American men sighting positive statistics. The PSA was released to local community access stations and you can also view the PSA online from the branch’s website www.mva-naacp.org.

This month’s guest presenter is Dee Morris a local historian who will talk about her project: Stories of Neighbors in Black, White and Red. Come join us for lively discussions on issues important to civil rights advocacy as well as hear from dynamic presenters.
