Rain, Snow Mix Coming to Medford, Area Wednesday

An early blast of wintry weather is forecast to hit the region on Wednesday, according to the latest details from the National Weather Service.

Medford and the surrounding area could receive three to six inches of snow by early Thursday morning. Rain and snow are expected to begin Wednesday morning. Snow is forecast for the afternoon before transitioning to a rain and snow mix Wednesday night.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect at 7AM Wednesday for twenty-four hours. According to the National Weather Service, a Winter Weather Advisory is issued when snow and/or ice is forecast but accumulations are expected to be light.

The timing of the storm will make travel for Thanksgiving difficult. Drivers are urged to use caution.

The 127th Medford/Malden Thanksgiving game is on as planned. Kickoff is at 10AM at MacDonald Stadium in Malden on Thursday.

Street sweeping for Zone 9 (Lawrence Estates area) scheduled for Wednesday has been postponed, according to information released by the city. A new date will be announced.
