Lady Mustang Soccer Team Clinches 6th Straight Greater Boston League Title

The Medford High School girls varsity soccer team for clinched the GBL title with a 3-0 win over Malden on Wednesday.

“It was a physical back and forth game,” said Coach Rachel Perry.

Korey O’Rourke scored the first goal on a shot outside the 18 yard line early in the first half. During the second half Bruna Silva scored on a deflection from a corner kick, and the final goal was scored on a free kick by Captain Olivia Allison.

The win over Malden improved the Medford’s record to 9-7-2 overall and 5-1 in the GBL. This is Medford’s sixth straight GBL championship.

The team includes Olivia Allison, Dora Barrett, Gigi Braga, Sarah Branley, Emma deRosas, Mary Donnelly, Hannah Gallup, Kly Goncalves, Colleen Hardy, Patricia Healion, Hailey Massa, Jahna Macnamee, Talia Matarazzo, Julia Mitrano, Korey O’Rourke, Adrienne Porrazzo, Daniella Ramirez and Bruna Silva. Rachel Perry is the Head Coach and Megan Richard is the assistant coach.
