AC Cross Country Teams Defeat Marian, Austin Prep

The Arlington Catholic girls and boys cross country teams continued their winning ways by defeating both Marian and Austin Prep in Framingham on Tuesday. The Lady Cougars defeated AP 23-38 (low score wins) and Marian 15-50. The boys did like wise, defeating AP by a score of 18-43 and the Marian Harriers 23-38. The Lady Cougars improved their record to 6 and 0 while the boys stand at 5 wins and 1 loss, according to Head Coach Jack Dempsey.

The girls were led by senior captain Olivia Liberti of Medford, who placed second with a time of 21 minutes flat. She was followed by junior Kathleen McLaughlin of Waltham (21:03), senior captain Olivia Stewart (Medford, 21:06), senior captain Kaitlin McCauley (Watertown, 21:28), freshmen Veronica Seguin (Bedford, 21:30), Alexandra Kay (Melrose, 21:33), sophomore Olivia Bowman (Melrose, 22:42), Grace Zukowski (Woburn, 23:01), freshman Marissa Pepe (23:49), and junior Giulianna O’Connell (24:50).

For the boys, senior captain Allen Judd (Burlington) placed second overall with a time of 17:28. Mike Vendetti of Lexington was third (17:36), followed by senior captain Sebastian Bissereth (Somerville, 18:37), senior captain Mike Kumar (Medford, 18:38), Nick Canniff (Arlington, 18:43), sophomore Connor Walsh (Billerica, 20:14), senior Kevin Hyanthe (Burlington, 20:32), and freshman Kevin Hickey (Arlington, 20:33). Sophomore Paul Reis of Arlington and freshman James Cordereo of Woburn also ran well.
