City Council Meetings Tuesday, August 6th

The Medford City Council will hold two public meetings on Tuesday, August 6.

Prior to its regularly scheduled meeting, the Council will hold a Committee of the Whole to discuss construction of a new Department of Public Works facility. Mayor Michael McGlynn, Budget Director Stephanie Muccini Burke, and DPW Director Paul Gere have been asked to attend the meeting to provide more information. The meeting is taking place at 6:00PM in Room 207 at Medford City Hall.

The Council’s regular meeting will begin at 7:00PM and will take place in the Council Chamber. The 13-page agenda includes a request from the Mayor for a $12,994,000 loan to cover the cost of demolition of the old DPW facility and the construction of a new building on the same property. The old DPW yard was torn down last month.

The Mayor is also requesting the Council approve a $950,000 loan order for new fire trucks and vehicles.
