MHS Athletes Named to All-Scholastic Teams

Medford High School seniors Maxine Harney and Jake Porrazzo have earned “All-Scholastic” honors.

Harney was named to The Boston Globe’s All-Scholastic team for girls golf.

“Harney held her own and then some against the boys in the fall, becoming the first girl to win Greater Boston League MVP honors after she shot 78 to win the league meet by six shots. She will attend Holy Cross,” said The Globe.

Porrazzo, pictured above, was named to the Boys Baseball All-Scholastics teams for both The Globe and the Boston Herald.

“The senior catcher was named co-MVP of the Greater Boston League after helping to guide the Mustangs to a share of the league title as well as a berth in the Division 1 North quarterfinals. Porrazzo batted .451 with three homers and 30 RBI,” said the Herald.

Porrazzo, also a hockey league all-star, football player, and a member of the National Honor Society, will attend Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
