Poll Gives Markey 12 Point Lead Over Gomez

A recent poll from New England College shows Congressman Edward Markey with a twelve point lead over Gabriel Gomez in the race for US Senate.

The poll was conducted on June 1 and 2. Fifty-two percent of voters polled said they supported Markey compared to forty percent for Gomez. Eight percent were undecided.

Ninety-three percent of those polled said they planned on voting in the special election, which is taking place on June 25.

The first official debate between the two candidates is Wednesday night. The debate is sponsored by WBZ-TV and The Boston Globe. It starts at 7:00PM and will be broadcast live on TV, online, and on the radio.
