Bestsellers Grand Reopening Celebration this Weekend

Owner Rob Dilman in his newly renovated store on August 2 when it opened for the first time in five years.

Bestsellers Cafe is once again open for business after a five year hiatus due to construction on the building where the popular bookstore/cafe is located in Medford Square.

The official grand opening celebration is planned for Saturday, August 11 and Sunday, August 12. According to Bestsellers’ Facebook page, the grand opening event will feature music, free food and coffe samples, and art projects.

On Saturday a ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 9:00AM with Mayor Michael McGlynn, according to a schedule of events provided by owner Rob Dilman. The ribbon-cutting will be followed by complimentary chair massages given by Mary Sbuttoni of Medford Muscular Therapy between 9AM and 11AM; live music by Christian Colgrove at 11AM, and a reading at 1PM by Medford author Judah Leblang, who wrote Finding My Place: One Man’s Journey from Cleveland to Boston and Beyond.

Medford jazz guitarist Raleigh Green will perform at 11AM on Sunday while Arlington guitarist Larry Terry will perform at 1:30PM.

There will also be a surprise gift for the first ten kids who visit Bestsellers on Saturday and Sunday.

The event is deliberately scheduled to take place during the state’s tax-free holiday this weekend, and customers will also receive another 10% off.
