City Adds More Arts, Sports Camps to Rec Program

Medford’s Summer Recreation program directors Julia Damon and Ann Amirault have updated the summer recreation schedule with additional sports and art camps being made available within the next few weeks.

For girls interested in lacrosse, a summer camp is being held at Medford High School for grades 5-11, beginning the week of July 23-27, at a cost of $55 per student.

For youth who are interested in crew, novice rowing camps are available. For first time rowers, camp runs from July 23-August 10, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11 AM – 1 PM at a cost of $80 per student. For experienced rowers, camp is run the same dates and days, but the times are different. Experienced rower camp times are 9 AM – 11 AM, again at a cost of $80 per student. Camp meets at rowing dock at Hormel Stadium.

For students interested in arts and crafts camps (ages 5-13), two different classes are being offered the week of July 23-27. Class 1 – “Inspire Young Writers- Calling all Authors & Illustrators” – 9 AM – 1 PM at the McGlynn School for a cost of $105 per student OR Class 2 – “Animation,” which runs at the same place, dates and times, and for the same cost, $105 per student.
