Medford’s Legion Baseball Team Opens Season June 11

The Medford Post 45 American Legion baseball team opens its summer season on Monday, June 11. Medford will head to Devir Park in Malden for a 6:00PM game.

The first home game is Wednesday, June 13 against Reading. The game is taking place at 5:45PM at Playstead Park.

“With an influx of new talent joining an already strong returning cast, Post 45 is looking to build on last year’s Chairman’s Cup appearance. The competition will again be top-notch, with numerous D1 and D2 college recruits starring on District 5 teams,” said returning Medford coach Ryan Kozul, who also was an assistant varsity coach for Medford High.

According to Kozul, the Medford team has nine players from Medford High, six from Arlington Catholic, two from Malden Catholic, and one from Belmont Hill.

Team members include Kevin Andrew, Anthony Barry, Nolan Brennan, Mike Brent, Jon Byrne, Ryan Carvalho, Dave Center, Paul Covelle, Ryan Covelle, Andrew Cronin, Corey Devlin, Mike Koury, John Lavoie, James McDonald, Mike Pizzi, Jake Porrazzo, Dom Ramasci, and Bob Wesoloski.
