Tufts Lax Players Graduate Early, Head to National Semi-Final for 3rd Straight Season

For the third straight year, the Tufts men’s lacrosse team will be advancing to the national semi-final after a 15-13 quarterfinal victory over RIT on Wednesday.

Like the senior Jumbo softball players this season, senior lacrosse players participated in a special commencement ceremony since they will miss the university’s Commencement on Sunday. Tufts President President Anthony Monaco and colleagues arranged the special commencement celebration for nine senior lacrosse players and their families and friends, complete with caps, gowns, remarks by the president and congratulations from Tufts’ trustees.

This is the third straight year an early graduation ceremony was held for the senior lacrosse players. Tufts won the D3 national title for the first time ever in 2010.

Tufts heads to Cortland State for a Sunday semi-final game with the top seed.
