Warm Weather Confuses Flowers, Trees, Bugs

Blooming tree

The summer-like weather has brought bees and other bugs out of hiding and has caused confused trees and flowers to bloom a month early. Nationally, farmers are concerned about early blooming apricots, apple blossoms, and asparagus. They fear a return to normal temperatures will kill their crop. This Medford flowering tree pictured above is over a month ahead of schedule, according to its owner. Temperatures on Friday should be better than seventy degrees after an 80+ degree Thursday. Forecasts show more seasonable weather returning for the weekend.
