A new youth league for football and cheering is launching in Medford.

Medford Youth Football has been started as an alternative to Pop Warner, according to league president Gene Kenney, pictured at right in an interview with Channel 15.

The league will serve children in grades 1-8. It is part of the Northeast Conference Youth Football League, said Kenney.

Those interested can find out more at an information and registration session on Wednesday, March 14 in the Council Chambers at Medford City Hall from 5:30-7:30PM.

Kenney spoke about the new league in an interview with a Medford High School student and the assistant varsity football coaches for Channel 15. Participating players and cheerleaders in the new league will be known as “junior Mustangs” in an effort to have a connection with the Medford Mustangs of the high school, said Kenney.
