Kevin Clifford, 57

Coach Kevin CliffordKevin C. Clifford passed away suddenly on February 26, 2012; he was 57 years of age.

Kevin was born in Boston to Warren T. & Josephine (Covino) Clifford of Everett. He was raised in Everett and graduated from Pope John High School in Everett.

Kevin worked for the United States Post Office as a letter carrier and then as a mail handler at the South Boston Postal Annex for the past 26 years. He was best known as “Coach” to the many kids he had on his football and baseball teams throughout the years. Mr. Clifford coached Everett Eagles Pop Warner Football for 17 years, was an assistant football coach at Reading Memorial High School for 4 years, assistant coach at Stoneham High School for 2 years and the last 2 years he was an assistant coach at Medford High School. Kevin also coached little league baseball in Everett and Melrose for several years.

He lived in Melrose for 17 years before moving to Reading in 2001. Kevin enjoyed taking cruises, scuba diving and taking rides in his little red corvette. Mr. Clifford was the loving husband of Julie A. (Mahoney) Clifford. Devoted father of Brendan R., Colby M. & Kyle C. Clifford. Cherished son of Warren T. & Josephine (Covino) Clifford of Everett. Beloved brother of Joy Pippy & her husband Glenn of Peabody. Also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, a niece and numerous friends.

Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Friday, March 2nd at 9AM. A Mass of Christian Burial in Kevin’s memory at The Church of the Incarnation, 425 Upham St. Melrose at 10AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Visiting hours Thursday 4:00 – 8:00PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Joslin Diabetes Clinic, 1 Joslin Place, Boston, MA 02115.
