Community Gospel Choir Concert Saturday at Tufts

In honor of Black History Month, the Community Gospel Choir will perform a free gospel concert, “Many Rivers to Cross,” at 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, in Cohen Auditorium at Tufts University.

The Community Gospel Choir is a volunteer choir made up of several churches and community members of varying ages and backgrounds. Medford resident Stacie J. Clayton, Choral Director at the Somerville Community Baptist Church, is the director.

Concert performers will include:

– Highrock Covenant Preschool of Arlington Heights
– Danny Godwin
– Fellowship Church of God youth group, Jamaica Plain
– Pianist and band leader Mina Cho
– Indian Gospel Melodies and Children’s Choir
– Nepalese dancers
– UMass Boston Gospel Choir

Boston Herald columnist Joe Fitzgerald will be the master of ceremonies.

Concert admission is free but tickets are required. Tickets are available at the Cohen Auditorium box office, 40 Talbot Ave., Medford, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This concert is made possible with the help of sponsors and the host church, Somerville Community Baptist Church.
