Boys Soccer Team Heads to Semi-Finals

Senior captain John Dumbuya led the varsity boys soccer team to a 2-1 victory over #2 seed Lincoln-Sudbury in an upset road victory for the Mustangs on Wednesday afternoon. Dumbuya netted both of Medford’s goals, one in the first half and the crucial game-winner in overtime. Goalie Bryan Peguero tended net for the team and made several key saves. Medford advances to the semi-finals on Friday, November 11 to play Masconomet (#6, 12-3-3) at 10:00AM at Manning Field in Lynn.

Billerica (#16) and Chelsea (#4) are the other two teams left standing. Chelsea defeated Somerville to advance to the semis to face Billerica on November 11.

In other soccer news, the girls soccer team ended their state tourney run with a 4-0 loss to North Andover in the quarter finals.
