Head Coach Rico Dello Iacono and the Medford Mustang football team will open up the season at home against Revere on Friday, September 9.

The Mustangs have opened up with former Greater Boston League rival Revere the past few seasons. After shutting out Revere 33-0 in 2009, the Patriots responded with a 48-12 victory in 2010. Medford, having suffered through a winless season last year, is definitely looking for a victory this Friday.

Senior Nick Olivier, Steve Center, Max Clancy, and Chris Buchnam will lead the team as captains. Coach Rico, formerly of Everett, is in his third season and he’ll be joined by returning coaches Bob Lauria (Freshmen), Kevin Clifford (Freshmen), John Donahue (Running Backs/Defensive Ends), Jason Nascimento (Assistant Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator Wide Receivers/Defensive Backs), and Kevin Krasco (Quarterbacks/Freshman). New coaches you’ll see roaming the sideline include Craig Drauschke (Offensive/Defensive Line), Greg Moscatel (Running Backs/Linebackers), and former Mustang Tony Louis (Volunteer Assistant Offensive/Defensive Lines).

Kick off is at 7PM at Hormel Stadium.
