Mayor Praises New Trash & Recycling Program

It’s been less than a year since the city’s new containerized trash and single stream recycling program began last fall, and Mayor Michael McGlynn so far likes what he sees.

According to Mayor McGlynn, the most recent figures indicate the city has so far saved $356,000 and has collected 4,484 less tons of trash. Recycling has significantly increased and trash costs are down.

“As always, it is gratifying to see the citizens working together to help make Medford a greener place in which to work, play and live,” said Mayor McGlynn last month.
