Medford Softball Players Compete in Bay State Games

The Bay State Metro Team captured the silver medal in softball at the Bay State Games held July 7-10 at Regis College in Weston. The Metro Team was represented by Medford natives Emily Welch (Medford High School), Jacqueline Pellecchia (Medford High School), Kaleigh Finigan (Austin Prep) and Allison Caloggero (St Clement HS). The Bay State Games are an Olympic style athletic event for some of the best amateur athletes in Massachusetts. The Games have over 25 sports and are made of of divisional teams from different regions of the state. More than 30,000 people from 300 cities and towns participate in its programs each year.
