EMARC Receives Disability Awareness Award

EMARC (East Middlesex Association for Retarded Citizens), an organization that helps children and adults with developmental disabilities, was recognized by the Medford Commission for Persons with Disabilities and the Human Rights Commission with the 2011 Disability Awareness Award. The award is given to individuals or businesses “that have been proactive in addressing disability issues in our community, being a volunteer, and/or addressing physical or emotional disability needs.” The group was recognized in a special ceremony outside of City Hall on Wednesday.
