Haberstroh Draws Crowd for Council Campaign Kick-off

Matt HaberstrohThe Campaign Kick Off event for Matt Haberstroh, candidate for Medford City Council at the home of Lori Gardinier and Jared Ingersoll, was attended by over fifty people. On a beautiful day, a feeling of celebration was in the air as many people voiced their solidarity with Haberstroh in his first run for an elected office. The crowd enjoyed burgers and hot dogs off the grill, a bouncy house for the kids as well as mingling with new and old friends in the city.

After thanking the crowd for attending, Haberstroh launched into some quick remarks about why he is running for City Council:

“Eighteen months ago the Globe remarked in reference to Medford ‘that times have changed, that maybe it is time to define yourself.’ Here is how I define Medford. We are attracting more professional people, we have amazing parks and a river runs through us. We live with tree lined streets, new schools and a close knit diverse community that I love. Times have changed. The world spins on a different axis of technology, information and social media networking. There are times when I think that Medford progresses at the pace of our forefathers of the Triangle Trade. We have to get involved and start to define Medford as a place of great aspirations, great prosperity and just a great place to live! It seemed like a natural extension after getting involved in community organizing, and having some success at it to run for City Council — and I ask for your support and your vote on November 8th.”

After his remarks, the attendees were able to meet with Haberstroh, ask questions about him and his campaign in order to get to know him, and his vision for the city.
