Attorney General Martha Coakley was sworn in to her second term as Attorney General on Wednesday in a ceremony at the Perkins School for the Blind. The Attorney General’s Office and Perkins partnered during Coakley’s first term on two major initiatives to ensure greater fairness of access and opportunity for individuals with disabilities, according to information posted on the school’s website.

Coakley, a long-time lawyer who has spent the last two decades as a public servant, in 1998 became the first woman to be elected Middlesex DA and in 2006 was the first woman elected state Attorney General. Courtesy photo.
