Junior guard Maurice Magras had a huge game for the Mustangs and helped lift the team to a 76-71 win on Sunday.

The first half of the game ended with Magras hitting about a sixty-five foot shot at the buzzer, bringing the score to 32-31 Stoneham. He had twenty-one points overall, including five three-pointers, one of which he nailed with twenty seconds left in the game.

Senior guard Danny Gilchrist had fourteen points while junior forward Larry Keating added twelve.

Stoneham is coached by Paul Tanglis, who spent three years as an assistant coach for Medford. Mustang Head Coach Anthony Faradie said “Stoneham did a really good job against us.”

The Mustangs are 2-4 heading into Wednesday’s home game against Pope John. Medford’s first GBL match-up will be at Everett on Thursday.
