Boys Hockey Opens Season with Tie

The varsity boys hockey team opened up the season with a 2-2 tie against Watertown on Saturday on home ice.

According to www.MedfordMustangHockey.com, Matt McConnell scored the Mustangs’ second goal to tie the game with just 2:30 left. McConnell was assisted by Cam Howard, who also assisted on Medford’s first goal by Guy Leone.

The reigning Greater Boston League champions, in their second season under Head Coach Steve DeBenedictis, don’t start the GBL action until January. They head to Cambridge on January 5 and host Somerville and Everett on January 8 and 12, respectively.

Up next for the Mustangs is a trip to Winthrop on Monday, December 27 followed by a home game against Natick on Wednesday, December 29 at 7:00PM.
