School Bullying Prevention Plan Under Review

The Medford Public Schools has come up with a draft bullying prevention plan and is seeking public input, according to School Superintendent Roy Belson.

The plan is posted online and comments can be emailed to feedback@medford.k12.ma.us.

The Medford School Committee will discuss school bullying policy in a Committee of the Whole meeting on Thursday, December 9 at 7PM at Medford High, and a public hearing will be held on the bullying prevention plan during the School Committee’s regular meeting on Monday, December 20 at 7PM. That meeting will take place at Medford City Hall and will be broadcast live on Channel 16 as well as replayed on Channel 15.

Bullying prevention and intervention plans are mandated by the state’s new anti-bullying law. The plan must include procedures that both prevent and address bullying and cyberbullying.
