Sen. Jehlen to Host Forum on Unemployment Issues

State Senator Patricia Jehlen (D-Somerville, Medford) will host a free informational forum to address issues facing those who are unemployed, underemployed, or job-hunting, especially job-seekers over 50. The forum will be held Monday, November 15th, 2010 from 7-9 PM at the West Medford Community Center at 111 Arlington Street, Medford.

The event was created in response to the many constituents seeking help with their unemployment claims, health care benefits while unemployed, and job searches. The program and Q&A will feature staff from the Department of Unemployment Assistance’s Medical Security Plan, Regional Call Center, Division of Career Service (North Metro Region) &Constituent Services. Other presenters will include Operation A.B.L.E for workers over 50, The Career Place, The Career Source, Greater Boston Legal Service — Employment Unit, and the Commonwealth Connector, the state’s health insurance agency.
