MHS Volleyball Has Winning GBL Record

The girls varsity volleyball team’s victory over Somerville on Wednesday improved the Mustangs’ Greater Boston League record to 3-2.

According to Head Coach Alice Beth FitzPatrick, senior Jen Uang had seven service points, two aces, six kills, and two stuff blocks, senior Davielle Pierrette had twelve service points, six aces, and three kills, senior Kathleen Harding had one kill and three stuff blocks, senior Mady Forcier had three kills and three stuff blocks, and senior Stephanie Nguyen had six service points and four aces. Junior Christine Feeley played a strong game as the setter and helped her team with eleven service points, one ace, and one stuff block, said the coach.

The set scores in Medford’s 3-2 victory were as follows: 25-19 Medford; 25-21 Medford; 25-17 Somerville; 25-23 Somerville; and 15-8 Medford.

Next week the team has three Greater Boston League match-ups, with Cambridge and Malden on the road on Monday and Friday and Everett at home on Wednesday. The Mustangs are 3-9 overall and 3-2 in the GBL.
