‘Driver Feedback’ Sign Posted on Harvard Street

Electronic Sign to Display Speed of Passing Vehicles on Busy South Medford Street

Mayor Michael J. McGlynn today announced the placement of Driver Feedback Signs on Harvard Street, which will be located on either side of the street at the site of the Lincoln School Condominiums.

“These signs, which are powered by solar and therefore, are also environmentally friendly, will give back the speed to an approaching vehicle. The speed limit on Harvard Street is 25 mph. If a vehicle exceeds this speed, the sign will start flashing the speed in which the vehicle is traveling. It is my effort to help make this area safer for all. With the lights being powered by solar, it’s a ‘win-win’ for the community all around,” said the Mayor.

“I would like to thank the residents of the neighborhood and the representatives of SMRTO for all of their efforts in helping to create a safer environment. It is my hope that these signs will go a long way towards slowing the traffic down in this heavily populated area of South Medford,” said Mayor McGlynn.
