Route 93 North in Medford Backed Up for Miles

News helicopters have been buzzing in the air for the past couple of hours over exit 33 of Route 93 North in Medford where a large hole opened up in the road. Above, video from Channel 7’s chopper over the scene.

A large hole in the road on Route 93 North damaged cars and caused major delays Tuesday afternoon.

According to televised reports, a crater the size of a small car opened up on the bridge decking in the area before exit 33 near Roosevelt Circle in Medford. No one was hurt but two cars were damaged.

Route 93 North was backed up for miles as the two right lanes were closed while repairs were being made. Crews are expected to work into the night to patch up the hole, which is expected to be fixed before rush hour Wednesday morning.
