Network Health Recognized for Top Leadership

HealthLeaders Media: Medford-Based Health Care Organization’s Leadership Team ‘Outstanding’

Network Health, Inc., a Massachusetts health plan that provides high-quality health care coverage to more than 160,000 Massachusetts residents with low and moderate incomes, has received the 2010 Top Leadership Teams in Healthcare award in the health plan category from HealthLeaders Media, a leading provider of health care business information.

HealthLeaders Media judged leadership teams on their overall leadership culture, ability to overcome challenges, and demonstrated success resulting from outstanding leadership and teamwork. HealthLeaders Media only chooses one winner per category to receive this national honor each year.

“A common trait that is obvious about all 2010 Top Leadership Teams in Healthcare award winners is their urgency to improve,” says Jim Molpus, strategic relationships director for HealthLeaders Media and chairman of the Top Leadership Teams in Healthcare program. “We attribute much of the rush to greatness to the rapidly evolving business models in health care delivery. The 2010 winners can truly serve as models for other health care leaders to know that change can come quickly, because it will have to in the future.”

The Top Leadership Teams in Healthcare program, now in its seventh year, celebrates the outstanding teamwork that occurs daily in health care organizations, shares what makes top leadership teams successful, and encourages health care leaders to learn from the best practices of top leadership teams.

“Network Health’s senior leadership team is honored to be recognized as a top leadership team for establishing a culture that promotes accountability, transparency, and diversity,” said Christina Severin, president of Network Health. “Our senior leadership team is focused on and invested in developing a robust culture that is the cornerstone of Network Health’s success. Our solid foundation lets our organization challenge itself to implement new, innovative programs that best serve our members.”

Other 2010 Top Leadership Teams in Healthcare award winners include Novant Health, Winston-Salem, NC for large hospitals and health systems; Columbus Regional, Columbus, IA for community and mid-sized hospitals; Chenango Memorial Hospital, Norwich, NY for small hospitals; and Crystal Run Healthcare, Middletown, NY for medical group practices.

HealthLeaders Media will present recipients with their awards on October 21, 2010 in Dallas, TX.
