Margaritas Grand Opening Party Monday, July 26

Margaritas Mexican Restaurant, a popular restaurant and lounge that’s developed a loyal following throughout New England for the past 24 years, is opening its newest location in Medford. The new Margaritas, located at 75 Station Landing, offers diners the chance to experience south of the border cuisine, the world’s tastiest margaritas and an atmosphere rich in the culture and artwork of Mexico.

“The energy at Margaritas is unlike any other restaurant in the Medford area,” said Bob Hoffmeister, President and COO of Margaritas Mexican Restaurant Group. “There is a strong sense of excitement that’s built into the Margaritas culture and why we are confident the restaurant will immediately become a favorite of the community.”

Margaritas is hosting a grand opening celebration from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday July 26th. The celebration, which is tied in with July’s Full Moon Margarita Madness event, will feature a ribbon cutting, appearance by Medford Mayor Michael McGlynn and visit from Hector, Margaritas infamous Paper Mache Cockatoo. The evening will feature a host of raffles, giveaways and prizes.

As part of the evening’s festivities, Margaritas will donate 5 percent of all lounge sales to the Portal of Hope. The restaurant will partner with a different charity each month as part of its monthly Full Moon Margarita Madness celebrations.

Offering made from scratch Mexican cuisine, each Margaritas restaurant is a gallery of hand-crafted Mexican artwork. To ensure the restaurant reflects present-day culture with a respect for history, Margaritas founder John Pelletier travels to working artists and manufacturing towns in Mexico to select hundreds of crafts, handmade tiles, pottery and carved tables and chairs.

Contributing to the restaurants appeal are the freshly made Margaritas, which come in 15 different flavors, including strawberry, sour apple, mango, pomegranate, mad melon, raspberry…and of course “The Original Margarita.”

“Margaritas is giving Medford diners the chance to experience the food and culture of Mexico, without ever stepping foot on an airplane,” Hoffmeister said. “Throughout the year we are looking forward to diners celebrating some of their favorite events with us, like birthdays and anniversaries, as well as our favorites, such as Cinco De Mayo and Full Moon Margarita Madness.”

The Medford Margaritas is located in National Development’s new waterfront neighborhood Station Landing, a transit-oriented project with direct train access to Wellington Station. It is the 21st restaurant for the popular Mexican concept.

For the first time in the company’s nearly 25-year history, Margaritas is looking to expand the brand by offering franchise opportunities. Margaritas is targeting high-profile, multi-unit franchisees that have a strong community presence, capital and proven business experience.
