Nominations Open for Disability Awareness Awards

The Medford Commission for Persons with Disabilities is seeking nominations for its annual Disability Awareness Awards.

“We ask that people nominate those individuals or businesses that consistently strive for equality and independence for people with disabilities,” said City of Medford Diversity Director Diane McLeod.

Nominations will be accepted until June 9, 2010. The forms are available at the Medford Public Library, at City Hall Room 214, online on the Disability Commission’s webpage, or by clicking here.

Last year Tufts University Director of Community Relations Barbara Rubel received the award.

Rubel is pictured above during last year’s ceremony with Mayor Michael McGlynn, Commission on Persons with Disabilities Chair Steve Honeycutt, members of the commission, city officials, and other event attendees.
