Mayor Michael McGlynn ran for a good cause on Tuesday afternoon at Hormel Stadium, kicking off the upcoming Walk for Inspiration.

The first annual Walk for Inspiration will benefit the Medford High softball team and MHS senior Melinda Stein, who is fighting a serious illness. The walk is taking place on Sunday, May 16 at Hormel Stadium from 6:00am-6:00pm. Participants are asked to get pledges or make a donation to run, walk, or jog the track for at least one hour during that time.

Mayor McGlynn, who runs daily for an hour, kicked off the walk on Tuesday by running a “victory lap” with the softball team before running for an hour on the track.

The Mayor is pictured above running with the team and in a group picture with MHS Softball Coach Jack Dempsey, Assistant Coach Jon Wilson, the girls softball team, Athletic Director Bob Maloney, School Committee member George Scarpelli and his kids, and Medford Vocational Technical High School Director Bill Mahoney and his wife Denyce.
