Medford Schools Will Observe Boil Water Order Until System is Flushed

While the “Boil Water” order has been lifted, there is a need to do proper system flushing before use of our faucets, etc. Therefore the schools will behave like the “Boil Water” order is still on until all faucets have been properly flushed and all appliances are properly treated. We will also distribute additional bottled water to the schools in the interim. Students will continue to be allowed to bring water with them to school today.

Please follow instructions for properly flushing your home systems. Run all cold water faucets for at least one minute and flush your hot water heaters for a good half hour. Run your dishwater through a full cycle. Dispose of ice cubes that may have been made during the boil water situation. Check with the news for more information or see www.mwra.state.ma.us.
