Lt. Gov. Tim MurrayMurray to Travel to Communities for Input on Budget, Other Issues

Governor Deval Patrick’s Municipal Affairs Coordinating Cabinet (MACC) is taking its meeting on the road and across the Commonwealth.

Lieutenant Governor Tim Murray and MACC will travel to communities and hear directly from municipal leaders. The meetings provide a great deal of valuable input. The tour will stop in Medford, hosted by Mayor Michael J. McGlynn, on Thursday, April 22, 2010, from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM at Medford City Hall, 85 George P. Hassett Drive, Medford. It will be held in the Council Chamber on the 2nd Floor of City Hall.

This meeting will be chaired by Lt Governor Murray and will focus on the proposed FY11 state budget, technology, civil service, health insurance, purchasing, capital asset management, human resources and green community initiatives. It is a forum for feedback on recent legislation, as well as, other non legislative ideas. MACC includes the following seven agency heads who will be in attendance along with the Lt Governor on April 22nd: State Purchansing Agent for Operation Services, the Division of Capital Asset Management & Maintenance Commissioner, the Chief of Human Resources, the Chief Information Officer, the Group Insurance Commission Executive Director, the Civil Service Commission Chairperson and the Director of Green Communities.

“This forum will provide an excellent option for all members of the community to communicate with state leaders. It is my hope all Medford residents will take this opportunity to join with us,” said Mayor McGlynn.
