Dear Editor,

As we move into the holiday season, I’d like to take this opportunity to recognize a local business that is tremendously supportive of the community.

I’m Treasurer of the Royall House Association and President of the Medford Historical Society. While many people confuse the two organizations, they are actually completely separate entities with their own objectives, responsibilities, and ongoing need for funds. Both organizations have historic buildings to maintain, and as every homeowner knows, older buildings require a lot of attention and money. (Both organizations have web sites if you’d like to learn more: www.royallhouse.org; www.medfordhistorical.org.)

John and Stephen Pompeo own the Pompeo and Sons Insurance Agency in West Medford. The family has served the community in many ways including their dad, Alfred Sr, who recently retired from the School Board after many years of service both as a School Committee member and a City Councilor. By taking advantage of a matching program from Arbella Mutual Insurance Company, the Pompeos were able to donate $1000, split between the Historical Society and the Royall House. This is particularly welcome in these difficult times.

Sincerely,

John Anderson
