Thanksgiving Game Tickets On Sale

Calling all Mustang fans!

Thanksgiving football game tickets are now on sale at the Medford High School Athletic Director’s Office and in the City Clerk’s Office in Medford City Hall.

Tickets are $3 for students and $5 for adults if purchased in advance. They will be $7 for adults and $5 for students on game day, so get ‘em early!

Don’t forget- it’s going to be a white out!  All Medford fans are asked to wear white to show their support for the Mustangs.

The annual Turkey Day classic with Medford and Malden is sure to be a great match up, as both teams have had decent seasons and have done well in the Greater Boston League, which is perennially dominated by pigskin powerhouse Everett. Medford currently has a winning record for the first time in over two seasons, and is in second place in the GBL, as the Mustangs are 2-1 in the league and 5-4 overall. Malden is also 2-1 in the GBL, is 4-5 overall, and is currently third in the league.

Malden gave Everett a run for its money last week and lost by less than a touchdown, 13-7. So the Malden/Medford match-up on Thanksgiving promises to be an interesting game worth watching! Medford has not won on Thanksgiving since 2006 and only has 54 T-Day wins to Malden’s 57.

The 2006 Thanksgiving Day game was the only game the Mustangs won in 2006.  Medford pulled out a muddy, rain-soaked 17-4 overtime victory over Malden on that day.

The 122-year-old rivalry between the Mustangs and the Golden Tornadoes in the third oldest high school football rivalry in the country.
