Cugno: Election Brought Changes, A Revelation

The following is from Ann Marie Cugno, who was re-elected to the Medford School Committee

A warm heart felt thank you to family, friends and supporters for allowing me the honor of being re-elected to the Medford School Committee. This election has not only brought some new changes but a revelation. The campaign is over and all the lawn signs have come down, it is now time to work together to bring changes to the twenty-first century. I look forward to continue working with my colleague Paulette Van der Kloot and the newly elected officials as we work together as a committee and bring our strong qualities to the table while being realistic enough to understand the challenges so many cities and towns are facing.

I cannot continue without thanking my colleagues, Mr. Fred Pompeo, Robert Skerry, Lena DiGiantommaso, and William Brady. Whether you agree or disagree with their political views they have given of their time to this city and should hold their heads up high. As a political committee they have accomplished more than a lifetime of service. To Mr. Pompeo for serving as a gentleman and leaving office as a gentleman you will always have my utmost respect. To Larry Brown and Chris Murphy you should both be proud of the campaigns you ran. As I now begin my third term, I am grateful to all of you, especially the hard working parents from the various organizations throughout our city that believed in letting our voices be heard and have allowed me the opportunity to be part of this change. I will continue to roll my sleeves up and work on projects that I believe are an essential part of our student’s lives. Last but not least, I would be remiss, if I did not thank the backbone of my life, my husband Michael, and my children, Michael, Marcello, Massimo and Matteo.

Sincerely,
Ann Marie Cugno
Vice-Chairperson
