AC Girls Cross-Country Wins League Meet

The Arlington Catholic Girls Cross-Country team continued their dominance over their Catholic Central League opponents by winning the league’s Cross-Country Championship Meet at Franklin Park in Boston last week.

The Cougars placed 6 runners in the top 18, with senior captain Corinne LaVassuer (Melrose) finishing 5th, sophomore Brigid Kirkpatrick (Medford) 7th, freshman Janelle Solviletti (Billerica) 9th, junio Lauren Reis (Arlington) 11th, senior Harriet Gabbidon (Malden) 12th, and sophomore Becca Gonsalves (Woburn) 18th.

The AC Girls were undefeated this season at 7-0 and won the league title.

The Arlington Catholic boys placed 3rd at the meet, despite finishing second in the league with a 6-1 record. Junior captain Joe Donlon (Stoneham) placed 5th, freshman Kevin Connors (Belmont) was 6th, sophomore Chris Laffey (Billerica) 15th, junior Andrew Cohen (Waltham) 26th, senior Jon Mancini (Arlington) 39th, sophomore Nolan Hart (Medford) 42nd, and senior Alex Morella (Arlington) 49th.

The Cougars will next compete in the State Coaches Invitational on Saturday November 7th, also at Franklin Park.
