Medford’s Rising Star Show October 25 at Tufts

Medford Rising StarThe following is an announcement from the organizers of Medford’s Rising Star:

Now in its second year, Medford’s Rising Star will showcase local talent at 3:00 p.m. on October 25, 2009 at Tufts University’s Aidekman Art Center—Cohen
Auditorium. Winners will receive trophies and have opportunities to perform at local events throughout the coming year.

Medford’s Rising Star Committee member, Mike Silvia, said, “There were so many talented performers at the auditions. The judges had a very difficult time determining the 26 finalists.” He continued, “The grand finale will feature a broad variety of talent including: singers; dancers; drummers; and even a band!”

The following performers were selected as finalists at the auditions that were held at Medford High School on Saturday, October 3:

Group I (Age 8-11):
J.J. Jalal – Indian drum
Christian Gatti – vocal

Victoria Miller-Brown – vocal
Four One One (411) – band

Group II (Age 12-15):

Medford’s Rising Star is sponsored by the Jingle Bell Festival Committee. Program proceeds benefit Medford Community Family’s Buddy Coholan Memory Loss Center, which provides daycare services to Alzheimer’s patients.
