The Arlington Catholic Girls and Boys Cross Country teams continued their winning ways and remain undefeated with a win over strong Austin Prep teams on Tuesday.

The girls won by a razor-thin margin, 27 to 30, while the boys won by a more decisive 18 to 38 margin. Both the boys and girls teams are currently 5-0 in the Catholic Central League.

The AC girls received outstanding performances from freshman Janelle Solviletti (Billerica) and senior captain Corinne LaVasseur (Melrose), who both broke the Arlington Catholic Menotomy Rocks Park 3-mile course record. Solviletti finished 2nd with the new AC record of 22 minutes flat and LaVassuer finished right behind her in 3rd place with a time of 22:07. Junior Lauren Reiss of Arlington was 8th, sophomore Mary Stanton (Woburn) 9th, sophomore Becca Gonsalves (Woburn) 10th, senior Harriet Gabbidon (Malden) 11th, and senior captain Bonnie Ferreira (Somerville) 12th.

The boys once again were led by junior captain Joe Donlon (Stoneham), who took first place with a time of 17:49 and who remains undefeated so far this season. Rounding out the top 3 were AC freshman sensation Kevin Connors (Belmont) and sophomore Chris Laffery (Billerica). Sophomore Kyle Liberti (Medford) finished 5th, followed by senior Jon Mancini (Arlington) 7th, junior Andrew Cohen (Waltham) 10th, and sophomore Nolan Hart (Medford) 12th.
