Boys Soccer Ties with Somerville, 2-2

The Medford Boys Varsity Soccer team played a hard fought and very physical game against Somerville on Thursday to a 2-2 finish. Medford High School junior Rico Altema scored first off a pass from sophmore John Dumbuya. Junior David Pires scored late in the game off a pass from senior captain Phil Petrides. Junior captain Marcello Cugno kept the Mustangs in the game by shutting down the Somerville offense.

The Mustangs are now 2-2-1 and are in the hunt for the Greater Boston League title with Everett and Somerville. They head to Malden on Monday, October 5 for a night game.
