Boys and Girls Club Afterschool Program Starts Sept. 14

Boys and Girls ClubThe following is an announcement from the Bruce Barrett of the Boys and Girls Club of Middlesex County

Afterschool program will begin Monday September 14, 2009. All of your schools have been alerted of our opening date. The reason that we are not open on the first day of school is so that we can be sure that our staff is trained and prepared for the school year ahead.

We will be holding mandatory orientations for all families to update you all on the changes and programs that we will be featuring this year. These orientations will be held on September 9th and 10th from 5 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Due to a limited capacity and an increased demand for services at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Middlesex County, the organization is strongly suggesting to interested families to register as early as possible for the 2009-2010 school-year.

*All memberships are $30.00 for the school year.

*All memberships will be valid through August 31, 2010.

*Only fully completed membership forms will be accepted with payment.

*All families with children 12 yrs and younger will be required to attend a mandatory Club orientation before attending; please see your Club Director regarding specific dates/times available.

*Parents who require a full or partial waiver of the membership fee may obtain one by speaking to their Club Director. Please do this as soon as possible. Please do not wait until the last minute to try to obtain a waiver and register your child for next school year.

*Only kids whose membership dues are fully paid or properly waived may register. Do not lose your opportunity to register by waiting until the last minute.

We are glad to share that even in these tough economic times, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Middlesex County will NOT be raising our annual membership fees. We are asking every parent with any special skills to please volunteer some time to your local Boys & Girls Clubs Club or making an additional donation beyond the membership fee. Volunteer skills may be in almost any area- from fund raising to running arts or athletic program to chaperoning a club activity to helping to maintain our buildings. Every contribution counts a lot, and together, we can continue building on the great programs we offer to members at the Boys & Girls Clubs!

New for 2009-2010

We will be providing full day care for Teachers In Service Days. September 15th and November 3rd.

For $15.00 we will be open from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. to provide your child with a safe and fun environment on their day off.

Thank you for your continued support.
