Hillside Mural Unveiled

Medford Health Matters, Local Teens Create CommUNITY Mural

Local teens spent part of the summer sprucing up a drab building in Medford’s Hillside neighborhood with a bright mural.

The CommUNITY mural is located on the corner of Winthrop Street and Boston Avenue and was created by Michael Parker, Chris Gelin, Huong Vong, Ian Wright, Curtis King, Keith King, Kerry Collins, and Sarah Ruemenapp. It was sponsored by the Metro Mayors Coalition, Shannon Grant Fund, and Medford Health Matters.

“It was very touching when residents from the neighborhood came by to show their appreciation and gratitude for the amazing piece…While we were there a few people even pulled over to tell us that they thought is was wonderful,” said Medford Health Matters Board member Nikole Roome-Torres.
