Local Time Trade ‘Bank’ Expanding in Medford, Area

Another bank has opened up in Medford, but this one keeps track of time instead of dollars.

The Time Trade Circle is a local “bank” that allows members to cash in on others’ time and talents by swapping them with their own. For example, one member who spends an hour cat-sitting for another member builds up a “time dollar” and can use that to “pay” for a needed service provided by another member, such as a haircut.

The variety of services available are only limited by the diversity of talents of the members and range from music lessons to computer repair to landscape design.

Medford resident Jimmy Morse said it was standing room only at a recent meeting to organize a time trade group in Medford. Morse is excited about being part of the group.

“Not only do you save money, you learn new things, meet new friends and get help without paying,” said Morse.

Morse said he has offered rides for shopping, political campaign work, and creating a wooden printer stand.

Visit www.timetradecircle.org for more information and to join a local group.
