City Seeks Over $3 Million in Federal Funds

Public Hearing Tuesday on Use of Community Development Funds

A public hearing will be held by the Medford City Council on Tuesday at 7PM so the public can comment on the city’s proposed use of federal funds for community development and planning.

Medford is applying for $1,725,630 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds. Additionally the city is applying for funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), including approximately $468,454 in additional CDBG funds, $716,681 in Homelessness Prevention funds, and $504,000 in Energy Efficiency Block Grant funds.

The city will present its final plan to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development on May 14.
